GIVE US OUR DAILY BREAD By: Frances M. McCrory-Meservy Oct 1976

In Sept. 1976 Al had been out of the Navy for a year and had to go to brush-up boot camp in Florida. It took a month for the first paycheck to get to us and it was late.

We ran out of groceries and had no money. When the mail came there was no check again. I told our children to get dressed and get in the car because we were going shopping. They looked at me kind of funny and Stephi asked how we could go shopping without money. I said, "The Lord will provide the money."

We drove to the grocery store and got out. As we reached the sidewalk in front of the store, I looked down and there in the gutter was a $50.00 bill. I picked it up and went inside. I went to the courtesy desk and told them I had found some money. I gave them my phone number so if anyone came in who lost money they could call and claim it. No one ever called.

We purchased our groceries and praised the Lord all the way home.

Our children remember this miracle of how God provided for us that day and know they can trust God for food.

Mat 6:31-34 "Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear? For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Phil 4:19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
