When we are humble, God will hear us, forgive us, heal our land, teach us and guide us.

A prideful person thinks he/she knows everything and can do anything and will not listen to instruction: they see no need for God.

A humble person knows they need God. To be humble is to know who you are in relation to God, listen to and obey Him.

Ideally to be humble you give up your will in favor of God’s will; have no mind of your own in the matter and listen to God’s instruction.

You would have a healthy fear of God - know He gives life and He can take it away. Know you can’t do anything in your own strength and depend on God for all things. Inquire as to what you should say and say only what God tells you to say.

A humble person knows God provides all their needs and gives them the ability to make money or anything else (he/she is just a willing participant).

Pride says, "I can feed myself and I made all this money. I can do that because I am strong, smart and trained. I... I... I... I.... Down to God does not exist. I am my own person even down to I am God.

Did you know a person could be proud they are a Christian? Pride comes before the fall.

When you hear someone say, "God helps those who help themselves." "If I do what I can do, God will do the rest." "Only ask God for help after you do all you can do." This is pride talking. This is not what God wants us to do. He wants to be involved in every corner of our lives.

When you hear someone say, "Why me Lord? What did I ever do to deserve you?" "Speak through me Lord." "Use me Lord." "Were do you want me to spend my money?" "Where do you want me to live?" "Who do you want me to marry?" Who do you want me to work for?" What should I take in college?" "Mold me Lord into who you want me to be." This is humility talking.

On 2 November 1983 I prayed and asked God how to be humble.  It came to me, "When your will and your desires are completely removed from you and only my will and my desires remain, then you will be truly humble before me.  Trust Me.

The only way I can do that is to ask the Holy Spirit to do it in me and through me.  Then I can rest in the Lord while He does the work.  It is not easy to be humble.

When you are humble and God is working through you, you are not shy - you are bold.  You are on your face before God; but on your feet before men.  God can use you in a mighty way.

Moses was a humble man; but he was bold before Kings.  He had his periods when he was not humble; but one of those cost him dearly (he was not allowed to enter the promised land).

George Muller (head of an orphanage in England was a humble man.  You should read about him.  His advice was, "Have no mind of your own in the matter."

God gives grace to the humble. He resists (goes against) the proud.

Eph 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

2 Chr :12-15 Then the LORD appeared to Solomon by night, and said to him: "I have heard your prayer, and have chosen this place for Myself as a house of sacrifice. "When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, "if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. "Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place.

Exo 10:3 So Moses and Aaron came in to Pharaoh and said to him, "Thus says the LORD God of the Hebrews: 'How long will you refuse to humble yourself before Me? Let My people go, that they may serve Me.

Num 12:2-3 So they said, "Has the LORD indeed spoken only through Moses? Has He not spoken through us also?" And the LORD heard it. (Now the man Moses was very humble, more than all men who were on the face of the earth.)

Exo 3:4-6 So when the LORD saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, "Moses, Moses!" And he said, "Here I am." Then He said, "Do not draw near this place. Take your sandals off your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground." Moreover He said, "I am the God of your father; the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob." And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look upon God.

Exo 3:11-14 But Moses said to God, "Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?" So He said, "I will certainly be with you. And this shall be a sign to you that I have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain." Then Moses said to God, "Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel and say to them, 'The God of your fathers has sent me to you,' and they say to me, 'What is His name?' what shall I say to them?" And God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM." And He said, "Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, 'I AM has sent me to you.'"

Phil 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Luke 12:11-12 "Now when they bring you to the synagogues and magistrates and authorities, do not worry about how or what you should answer, or what you should say. "For the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say."

Prov 30:6 Do not add to His words, Lest He rebuke you, and you be found a liar.

Deu 8:3 So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the LORD.

Ezra 8:21 Then I proclaimed a fast there at the river of Ahava, that we might humble ourselves before our God, to seek from Him the right way for us and our little ones and all our possessions.

Deu 8:16-18 "who fed you in the wilderness with manna, which your fathers did not know, that He might humble you and that He might test you, to do you good in the end; "then you say in your heart, 'My power and the might of my hand have gained me this wealth.' "And you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.

1 Chr 29:11-14 Yours, O LORD, is the greatness, The power and the glory, The victory and the majesty; For all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours; Yours is the kingdom, O LORD, And You are exalted as head over all. Both riches and honor come from You, And You reign over all. In Your hand is power and might; In Your hand it is to make great And to give strength to all. "Now therefore, our God, We thank You And praise Your glorious name. But who am I, and who are my people, That we should be able to offer so willingly as this? For all things come from You, And of Your own we have given You.

Psa 25:9 The humble He guides in justice, And the humble He teaches His way.

1 Pet 5:5-7 Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for "God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble." Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

Rom 8:31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
