God is Protector of Reputations
By: Frances M. McCrory-Meservy Sept 1993-Oct 1994, Feb 1995-Aug 1995Right after my vacation in September 1994, the service manger at work told his wife he was having an affair with me. He told me it was so she would not leave him. How weird. His wife threatened to make a scene at work if I didn’t quit my job.
I went in and told the owner what was going on and that I did not feel it would be good for his business for me to continue working there. He picked up the phone and called Beaumont Motor Co. and told them I was a good worker asked if they had a position for me over there. He then told me to go over and apply and they would hire me. He thanked me for letting him know what was going on and he would take care of it in due time.
While I was at Alexander Motor company, I created a customer follow up system so I could get customers in for regular maintenance. Evidently it created so much business that the girl who took my place could not keep up. In October 1994, they hired me part time to come in after the service manager went home to help get caught up.
I would leave Beaumont Motor Co. at 5:30 PM and go straight to Alexander Motor Co. When I got off there, it was 9 PM and I would be so tired I would just fall in bed, too tired to eat. I did that 2 nights a week for 4 months.
In January, 1965, the service manager at Alexander Motor Co was bragging about how he had told his wife he was having an affair with me even though he had not so she would not leave him. One of the salesmen punched him out and Mr. A fired him when he came to.
Mr. A then had the bookkeeper take me out to dinner and offer me my job back with a raise. I told her I would think about it and let her know. I went back to work at Alexander Motor Co. in February. Mr. "A" kept the girl who had replaced me and we worked well together.
I was in church on the weekends that Mom picked me up and had private time with my lord again. My life got better. Most of my prayers were "What do I do now Lord?" I would eventually learn to ask what I should do before I ventured out into something instead of after I had a mess on my hands; but, not yet.
Psa 62:1-2 Truly my soul silently waits for God; From Him comes my salvation. He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be greatly moved.
Prov 2:11 Discretion will protect you, and understanding will guard you. Wisdom will save you from the ways of wicked men, from men whose words are perverse, who leave the straight paths to walk in dark ways, who delight in doing wrong and rejoice in the perverseness of evil, whose paths are crooked and who are devious in their ways.
Isa 32:2-4 A man will be as a hiding place from the wind, And a cover from the tempest, As rivers of water in a dry place, As the shadow of a great rock in a weary land. The eyes of those who see will not be dim, And the ears of those who hear will listen. Also the heart of the rash will understand knowledge, And the tongue of the stammerers will be ready to speak plainly.
