The Witness of Words By: Frances M. McCrory-Meservy December 1964

I went to work at Beaumont Motor Co. as a relief PBX telephone operator/receptionist. I also helped with the bookkeeping overflow. It was a nice place to work and I found out I loved the PBX telephone. It had 36 incoming lines and 28 internal lines. They are obsolete now and that’s a shame.

One day I was answering the telephones and stapling statements. I stapled my finger. I mean I buried the staple in my left index finger.

The PBX board lit up like a Christmas tree and I just held my finger up in the air and kept answering the telephones. A salesman noticed and took the staple out of my finger. When he did, the staple was replaced by a little fountain of blood. He grabbed a Kleenex and applied pressure. Another salesman ran for a bandage.

They had me all fixed up by the time I was off the phones and I said, "thank you: that hurt." They were totally amazed that I could answer the phones without letting on that I was in pain.

Psa 19:14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my strength and my Redeemer.

Gal 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
