Pearland Baptist By Frances M. McCrory-Meservy (A Volunteering Church/Oct 1980-Oct 1981)

After we moved to Pearland, we visited the First Baptist Church near our home. We really enjoyed the Sunday School classes and liked the sermons.

We went down about a month after we moved and joined the church.

The pastor made the comment that I must have liked what he was preaching because I joined. I had to apologize to him because I did not hear any of his sermons. Every time he stood up to preach God would put people on my heart to pray for and I would be praying through each sermon.

I heard several of his sermons throughout the following year. They were all good.

One of the things that impressed us was that they were adding new Sunday School rooms.  Members would purchase lumber, bring it to church and nail it where it was needed.  It struck me that these people were not putting just money in their church.  They were putting heart and soul into it.

Mat 21:13 And He said to them, "It is written, 'My house shall be called a house of prayer,'

Mark 11:17 Then He taught, saying to them, "Is it not written, 'My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations'?

Luke 19:46 saying to them, "It is written, 'My house is a house of prayer,'

Rom 13:8 Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law.
