Wine Into Water 1982 by Frances M. McCrory-Meservy
I don't recall why Al was angry with God; but he was. He decided to just get drunk.
He asked for a beer. I decided that if Jesus could turn water into wine, He could also turn wine into water. I placed my hand over the can and prayed that God would turn it into whatever Al needed and gave him the beer. He drank a case of beer, a bottle of Port Wine and a bottle of Bacardi 151 Rum. I delivered each drink to him and prayed over it on the way.
Al never felt the drinks and never got even close to drunk; but he had to go to the restroom a lot. We figure God turned the fermented drink into water.
He sank down in his chair after the last bathroom run and look totally defeated. He looked up and had a vision of God sitting on His throne, one elbow on His knee, bent over, laughing at him. Al started laughing.
To my knowledge, Al has never been mad a God again nor has he ever had the desire to drink since then.
You can trust God with everything - even alcoholic beverages or whatever else is the problem. The key is to not take over; but rather, allow God to be God and take care of the problem. As long as I am fussing at Al about something, nothing happens. When I get out of the way, ask God to take care of the problem and allow God to work, God takes care of the problem.
1 Cor. 11:3 But I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.
Eph. 5:22-24 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.
John 2:3-10 And when they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, "They have no wine." Jesus said to her, "Woman, what does your concern have to do with Me? My hour has not yet come." His mother said to the servants, "Whatever He says to you, do it." Now there were set there six waterpots of stone, according to the manner of purification of the Jews, containing twenty or thirty gallons apiece. Jesus said to them, "Fill the waterpots with water." And they filled them up to the brim. And He said to them, "Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast." And they took it. When the master of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom. And he said to him, "Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then the inferior. You have kept the good wine until now!"
