Accidentally Casting Out Demons April 1990 by Frances M. McCrory-Meservy

April 1990 we had just moved into our duplex in Wichita, Ks. Our first Sunday there, we had no idea which church Our Lord wanted us to attend. We saw our neighbors come home all dressed up with Bibles in hand. Al told me to go ask them where they went and we could start there.

I bounced outside and started talking to Doug (Tammy was already inside) about how wonderful Jesus was and did he know of a good church where we could go. He was real quiet for a while and I kept jabbering about Jesus and how good He was to us. Doug finally told me to come over for coffee later and Tammy could tell us where a good church was.

About seven that night, Al and I went over and properly introduced ourselves to Doug and Tammy. We sat and talked to them about some of the miracles in our lives. Before the evening was over, Doug accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. He said that Al glowed when he talked about Jesus and he took everything to heart.

It turned out that Doug was demon possessed; but when Jesus came into his heart the demons came out. His demons hung around and tormented him and Tammy. Doug could see them and hear them them.

We suggested that he and Tammy read scripture out loud, play Christian music, sing praises to Jesus and talk about Jesus all the time. They would leave their radio on a Christian station and go to the store. When they returned, it would be changed to another station and they would put it back. It took a week of this before all the demons finally left. They never came back.

Doug can still see into the spirit world and knows which people have demons hanging around. He also understands that the person will be worse off than before if he drives the demons out before they are ready to fill the void with the Holy Spirit.

Tammy was already a Christian who had been unequally yoked. I am glad I was there to help her through the transition with Doug. Most divorces happen when one of the partners gets saved.

Doug went from being a violent person to becoming a gentleman. He changed so much so fast that it was hard on Tammy.

Doug is a part time youth director at a Baptist church now and Tammy teaches Sunday School. They are happily married and have three children.

(Psa 34:5 NIV) Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.

(Mat 12:43-45 NIV) "When an evil spirit comes out of a man, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. Then it says, 'I will return to the house I left.' When it arrives, it finds the house unoccupied, swept clean and put in order. Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that man is worse than the first. That is how it will be with this wicked generation."

(Psa 34:7-8 NIV) The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them. Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.

(1 Sam 2:9-10 KJV) He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail.

Psa 97:10-12 NIV) Let those who love the LORD hate evil, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked. Light is shed upon the righteous and joy on the upright in heart. Rejoice in the LORD, you who are righteous, and praise his holy name.

1 John 5:18 NKJV) We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him.
