SAILING UP THE WATERFALL
By Frances M. McCrory-Meservy December 1991In a dream in 1991, Al and I sailed a clipper ship over a huge waterfall into a river below. The area around the river was like a desert. The people there were feeble. We tried to talk them into getting on the ship with us so they could go up the waterfall to the lush healthy land. Most of them would not; but a few got on the ship. We sailed up the waterfall and when we looked back, the people in the desolate land were dieing. I was very sad because they could have come with us.
When I woke up, I asked God to reveal the meaning of the dream.
He showed me that the ship represented a person's lifestyle. Al & I would be an example of Christianity to the people we met and ministered to.
The water, of course, represents the love that the Holy Spirit who lives in us and is on us produces through us.
The desolate land represents this world and the feeble people are the ones who are dieing in their sins.
The lush healthy land is the Kingdom of God. In His kingdom we live abundantly and have eternal life.
He showed me that He was going to use Al and I to reach people for Him. The ones
who listened would be with us in heaven. Most people think Christianity is foolish and that it is too hard to live that kind of life. Therefore it is like sailing up a waterfall. What they do not understand is that the Holy Spirit makes it easy to live the way God wants us to. All we have to do allow God's Holy Spirit to love others through us.
Phil 3:17 Brethren, join in following my example, and note those who so walk, as you have us for a pattern.
1 Tim 4:12 Let no one despise your youth,
but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love,
in spirit, in faith, in purity.
Mat 17:20 So Jesus said to them,
"Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I
say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain,
'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be
impossible for
you.
Mat 19:25 - 26 When His disciples heard it, they were greatly astonished, saying, "Who then can be saved?" But Jesus looked at them and said to them, "With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."
Luke 18:27 But He said, "The things which are impossible with men are possible with God."
Mat 11:28 - 29 "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. "Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
