In The Twinkling of An Eye By Frances M. McCrory-Meservy December 23, 2007

I was sitting in my chair that is about 3 feet from the window when a sparrow flew into the windowpane. He frantically tried to get through the window as a hawk (wingspan covered the window) snatched him from the window.

That little sparrow was on the window and caught away so fast that I did not have time to blink. It was so startling that I caught my breath.

I was not upset because that's the way God created nature. The sparrow was prey for the hawk and probably food for her little ones.

It all happened so fast that I came to understand what Paul meant when he said, "in the twinkling of an eye."

When Jesus returns and raises us up from the earth, it will be so fast that we will not have time to think. Unlike the Sparrow that was running for her life before she was caught away, we will not know it's about to happen. We will be about our business as usual.

1 Cor 15:51-52 Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed; in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

Mat 24:36-46 "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. "But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. "For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, "and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. "Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. "Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left. "Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. "But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. "Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect. "Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season? "Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, will find so doing.
