Red Beans

1 16 oz. bag Dry Red Beans
2 Tblsp Chili Powder (optional/add a little kick and good if adding to chili)
1 Tblsp Salt
1 tsp. Black Pepper
1 inch Ham steak, cooked & diced (optional/do not add if making Chili or bean dip from beans)
Put beans and all other ingredients in Crock-pot and fill with water. Cook on low overnight or for 8 hours. Add more salt if needed. Serves 4-8
Pour over: Rice with:
Onion
Cornbread
Milk or Iced Tea
OR Serve with:
Ham, Chicken, Pork or Beef
Potatoes or Corn
Salad
Cornbread
Milk or Iced Tea
