Freedom through forgiveness by Frances M. McCrory-Meservy
A lady called and said that she and her family were Christians, went to church every time the doors were open, tithed and did everything they could to be good Christians; but everything was going wrong and their finances were just getting worse and worse. She knew she must be doing something wrong but did not know what.
It came in my head and out my mouth, "but have you forgiven your Uncle for what he did to you when you were five years old?" Then I proceeded to tell her what he had done to her. While this is coming out of my mouth, my brain was going, "You don’t know that."
This precious lady was very quiet for a minute and my brain is still going, "you don’t know that."
She finally spoke, "That had to be from God because my Uncle and I are the only ones who know about that. I have never told anyone and my Uncle is dead."
She started to cry and we prayed for God to help her forgive her Uncle. I gave her some encouraging scriptures.
It’s an awesome experience when God takes over a conversation and the things that are coming out of your mouth are foreign to you. I am sure that is how the Holy Bible was written. The people who wrote it down were just typewriters and the Holy Spirit did the typing.
Mat 6:14-15
"For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. "But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.Luke 6:37-38
"Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. "Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you."
