Serving - The person who comes in and just does whatever is needed without asking what needs to be done; chief; dish washer; waitress; waiter; janitor; house keeper; gardener; cashier; secretary; bookkeeper; etc.

Example: My friend who had the gift of helps had been cleaning my house for me.  I had to be there and she did whatever I asked her to do.  She moved.  I had another friend who had the gift of serving.  I again needed someone to clean my house once a week.  She offered take the job.   I could just give her the key and go do whatever I needed to do and when I got home everything was done.  I never had to tell her what was needed - she just saw it and did it.  That's the gift of serving.  Every Christian is supposed to serve God in some way; but the person with the gift of serving are a group set apart to make it easy for the ministers to do their jobs without distractions.  The person with the gift of helps usually fall in and assist the gift of serving.

Gen 15:13-14 Then He said to Abram: "Know certainly that your descendants will be strangers in a land that is not theirs, and will serve them, and they will afflict them four hundred years. "And also the nation whom they serve I will judge; afterward they shall come out with great possessions.
