Things I learned about a dishwasher the hard way.
All dishwashers are not the same - yours may be a little different from mine.
Put your cups and glasses between the pointed guards. Never put them over the guards because that may cause them to break. Arrange the cup handles away from glasses because they may break your glasses. Try to put plastic on the top rack so it will not melt. Use plastic lids to shield fragile glasses.
Directly behind the black spatula is a hole. Never ever cover the hole. Thatís where the water comes from that cleans the top rack in your dishwasher. If you have an arm under the top rack, say praise the Lord, I don't have a hole to worry about.
Never put sharp pointed objects with the points down in the utensil basket. They may stop the bottom arm from turning and that will keep the bottom rack of dishes from getting clean.
If you insert a tall object in the right front section of your bottom rack, you may prevent the soap dispenser from opening and your dishes will not get clean.
Your dishes will dry if you do not turn on the heat/dry. The heat/dry cost you about $20 to $30 or more per month to use. Open the door and pull the top basket out about an inch and the dishes will dry faster.
My dishwasher repair man told me, "If you do not have your hot water heater turned up high, the water will not be hot enough to clean your dishes."
If you keep your water temperature low, you need to clean your plates better than I did before you put it in the dishwasher. Always make sure the oily surfaces of pans are free of oil before you put them in the dishwasher.
