Maple syrup  Profile

Maple syrup contains more than 20 antioxidant compounds known for their beneficial effects on health and inhibit proliferation of cancer cells.

The antioxidant value of maple syrup and the significant concentration of abscisic acid, a plant hormone known to stimulate the release of insulin by pancreatic cells and increase the sensitivity of fat cells to insulin, which confers the therapeutic properties for the metabolic syndrome and diabetes.

The University of Rhode Island has discovered the presence of 13 antioxidants, anticancer, antibacterial and antidiabetic.

Maple Syrup limits the proliferation of cancer cells of the prostate and lung and to a lesser extent, breast, colon and brain in cellular models.
