Return Justice to our Courts by: Fran Meservy
We have become a nation of injustice. We render more protection to the crooks than to the victims. The rich are shown partiality over the poor man. If this causes the foundations of the earth to be unstable, is this why we have earthquakes and volcanic activity?
If we take care of the poor and needy among us, God will make our enemies glorify us and be afraid of us. Our enemies will no longer attach us or threaten us.
If we again become a refuge for the poor, no longer oppress strangers and again become a refuge from the storm, the alien voices will be dimed. Though they rail against us now, their voices will be whispered in private and come to naught.
Psa 82:1-5 God stands in the congregation of the mighty; He judges among the gods. How long will you judge unjustly, And show partiality to the wicked? Selah Defend the poor and fatherless; Do justice to the afflicted and needy. Deliver the poor and needy; Free them from the hand of the wicked. They do not know, nor do they understand; They walk about in darkness; All the foundations of the earth are unstable.
Prov 14:31 He who oppresses the poor reproaches his Maker, But he who honors Him has mercy on the needy.
Prov 31:9 Open your mouth, judge righteously, And plead the cause of the poor and needy.
Isa 10:1-3 "Woe to those who decree unrighteous decrees, Who write misfortune, Which they have prescribed To rob the needy of justice, And to take what is right from the poor of My people, That widows may be their prey, And that they may rob the fatherless. What will you do in the day of punishment, And in the desolation which will come from afar? To whom will you flee for help? And where will you leave your glory?
Isa 25:3-5 Therefore the strong people will glorify You; The city of the terrible nations will fear You. For You have been a strength to the poor, A strength to the needy in his distress, A refuge from the storm, A shade from the heat; For the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall. You will reduce the noise of aliens, As heat in a dry place; As heat in the shadow of a cloud, The song of the terrible ones will be diminished.
Ezek 22:29-31 "The people of the land have used oppressions, committed robbery, and mistreated the poor and needy; and they wrongfully oppress the stranger. "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one. "Therefore I have poured out My indignation on them; I have consumed them with the fire of My wrath; and I have recompensed their deeds on their own heads," says the Lord GOD.
