Man's Glory by: Frances M. McCrory-Meservy 20 July 2014
Here scripture is not talking about God's glory. Notice the his is not capitalized. That means it's talking about man. If it were talking about God, it would be: His.
I did not know that we could have glory; but I never thought of fame as glory. Proverbs is talking about being known or having public praise and honor for overlooking an offense.
In today's age of getting even or being macho, we would be the talk of the town if we did not react to an offense. Now think about this: people want to hear from the talk of the town. They want to know how that is possible.
This is our opportunity to tell them about Jesus and how he helped us have so much self-control. After all, that is one of the fruit of the Spirit. We have an opportunity to use our glory to Glorify Jesus (be it one on one or in a group setting).
Good sense makes one slow to anger,
and it is his glory to overlook an
offense.
Proverbs 19:11
Proverbs 19:11 The discretion of a man makes him
slow to anger, And his glory is to
overlook a transgression. NKJ

2 Cor 4:16-17 Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory,
1 Th 2:5-7 For neither at any time did we use flattering words, as you know, nor a cloak for covetousness; God is witness. Nor did we seek glory from men, either from you or from others, when we might have made demands as apostles of Christ. But we were gentle among you, just as a nursing mother cherishes her own children.
1 Pet 5:4 and when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that does not fade away.
