Example: When I was a 700 Club prayer counselor I felt everyone the pain that everyone who called me felt. I had great compassion for them and led them into repentance or told them how to forgive so they could be relieved of the pain. I have had this happen at other times but nothing like when I was a prayer counselor. Each of us as a Christian experience mercy (from God to us and from us to others). I do not have the gift of mercy but I have experienced it while God was being merciful to people through me. People with the gift of mercy forgive people at the drop of a hat and will bend over backwards to relieve people of whatever pain they are in. They are the precious Christians who feel the pain others feel and are called gullible by the world. Next time you meet a gullible Christians have compassion on them - it can be a painful gift that is to be used joyfully.
